It is not absolutely necessary to have everything figured out from the very beginning. If you happen to have that – great. If not, it’s not a problem, this is a process and most customers actually like it because frequently the ring looks even better than originally envisioned.

Potential issues with signet rings to keep in mind

Customers frequently request an 18K gold signet ring but rarely realize that it can weigh two ounces or more. For that reason we suggest focusing on the design first, then choosing whether is should be silver or gold. Thinning the design just so gold fits in the budget is not a good option because it results in a “flimsy ring”. 10K gold is not a good option either because the material itself if not great for casting and may result in loss of small details.
