THE BEGINNINGS
2000-2012
Everything began back in 2000, when I was studying for a grueling physical chemistry exam at university. It was an excruciating experience, one that made my brain desperately needing rest. Rather than simply doing nothing, I discovered that the best kind of rest came from doing something completely different. It was something that would engage different parts of the brain and bring the joy of creation—a joy that felt intellectually fulfilling.
I realized that the analytical and creative parts of the brain are indeed separate, and that switching between them could be incredibly restorative. Coming from a family where craftsmanship was second nature, where every male member had carved wood, it felt only natural to pick up some Play-Doh during study breaks and begin forming shapes—mostly oak leaves. It was a simple, almost meditative activity, but it had a powerful effect. It gave my mind the relief it needed, allowing me to return to my analytical work recharged and ready to tackle the next problem.
2012 – Onward
This small creative practice became a routine, one that continued for years, until 2012, when a burnout in my career made me reevaluate everything, particularly health. With more time on my hands, I decided to transform several models into something more permanent—precious metal. This decision caught the attention of an online vendor who needed skilled craftsmen, and suddenly, the opportunity to focus on art became a reality.
It was around this time that I visited The Art Institute of Chicago. Someone employed there, after seeing my work, told me that I received a gift—a gift from God, one that I must embrace and pursue this path. That person did not have the power to set up an exhibition for CCJ there, nor I would qualify to get exposure at such an esteemed place. Nevertheless, she really liked the work enough to make me listen to her. Whether or not she was right, I couldn’t say. What he do know for sure was that I should not neglect my artistic side.

THE NOW
The present moment is all we have, yet we often neglect it by focusing too much on the future. However, everything happens in the now. If there’s an idea that’s been lingering for some time, it shouldn’t be put off until it fades away. While it’s understandable that pursuing a project requires both time and financial investment, once those resources are in place, the best time to start is… now.
That said, there is one major project that has been on hold for years. Its potential impact, however, is vast. I hope that one day I’ll be in a position to contribute to it, even if the group that originally commissioned the project may have long since given up.
