18K White Gold Obsidian Wedding Bands

This is the second set of wedding bands created for the same academic couple, crafted from 18K white gold and their own obsidian. Unlike the silver set, these gold bands presented a different challenge: they needed to feel sleek and refined, yet substantial, while remaining comfortable enough for everyday wear.
I approached them in the same way as the platinum Florida ring, emphasizing smooth finishes that highlight both the gold and the natural beauty of the obsidian. The couple was delighted with the result, now enjoying two complementary sets of rings that allow them to alternate between a bold, textured look and a sleek, minimalist style. Though technically less challenging than some of my other creations, these rings are a reminder that working with clients who truly value the artistry and care behind each piece is one of the most rewarding aspects of my craft.
